The FIFA Legends Cup 2026 was held on July 17 in New York’s iconic Rockefeller Center, where football royalty, global sports icons, and FIFA officials got together in the build-up to the highly anticipated Argentina vs. Spain FIFA World Cup final.
This special exhibition game featured a host of football legends and offered fans a chance to witness the greatest players in football history coming back to play in the heart of Manhattan. Kaká’s signature finishing prowess was evident as he had the opportunity to hit the net during the entertaining match, and the Italian giant Alessandro Del Piero added a goal, too.
Former Barcelona and Spain defender Carles Puyol, who was an unlikely visitor to the goal, made a save against Argentina legend Javier Zanetti, while World Cup-winning keeper Iker Casillas joined in.
The star-studded event was not restricted to footballers. Novak Djokovic, the tennis legend, added celebrity to an already astronomical lineup of sporting talent to the mix.
Other well-known players included Frenchman David Trezeguet, England’s John Terry, and Croatia’s Davor Šuker. Following their victory in the FIFA Legends Cup game, the group joined in the celebration together, making amazing scenes for the fans who watched the game from Rockefeller Center.
