Batting first, Pakistan put on a good 175 for five. Captain Muneeba Ali and Shawaal Zulfiqar had a strong start, scoring 90 runs together for the first wicket. Muneeba went 45 from 30 balls while Shawaal hit 48 off 35 deliveries to be the top scorer for the day. Eyman Fatima then came to the rescue with an unbeaten 30 from 19 deliveries to keep Pakistan on track. Chamudi Praboda was the top bowler for Sri Lanka and he took two wickets for 27 runs.
