It is reported that FIFA recently released nearly 1200 category 2 tickets that were priced at around $7380 each. Official resale listings reportedly have gone up to $32,970, which is an eye-watering price, and premium Category 1 seats are reportedly priced between $19,995 and even more unprecedented amounts.
The ticket prices will make it more expensive to fly to the final in New Jersey of the 2026 World Cup than it is to buy a new car, take a luxury vacation in some countries, or pay a house deposit. When all costs, including flights, accommodation, transport, and food, are added up, it could cost the average football fan a lot more than a trip to the game.
