Will FIFA Remove Francois Letexier?
Reports suggest FIFA refereeing officials will assess Letexier’s performance, including technical evaluations, official match reports, and video footage from the controversial incidents.
However, Egypt’s demand does not automatically mean the referee will be removed. The FIFA Referees Committee continues to be responsible for the appointment and selection of match officials for the World Cup.
Letexier is one of Europe’s most familiar officials and he previously officiated in the Euro 2024 final between Spain and England.
Now, all eyes are on FIFA.
